Griselda Olvera, Digital Organizer, helps coordinate the Center’s many digital communications. She is double-majoring in sociocultural anthropology and religious studies at the University of Arizona and has also worked as a volunteer facilitating campus-wide sexual education with the university’s LGBTQA+ resource center, Pride Alliance. Jean Merrigan, Senior Paralegal and Research Specialist, works with the Center’s Environmental Health program. For the past several years she has represented the nonprofit Women’s Energy Matters in proceedings at the California Public Utilities Commission, advocating for sustainable-energy policies and the retirement of Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. Jean has a background in litigation and has also worked in documentary filmmaking.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a JD from Cornell Law School. Jason Totoiu, Senior Attorney, works in the Center’s Southeast region protecting endangered species and public lands. He grew up along Florida’s Treasure Coast; he earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory and his law degree from Tulane.

Prior to law school, Justin was employed as a wildlife biologist and has worked on projects in the San Bernardino Mountains, Yellowstone National Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and the John Muir and Ansel Adams Wilderness Areas. Ted Zukoski, Senior Attorney, works on public-lands issues, including the protection of roadless forests. Prior to joining the Center in 2019, Ted worked for 15 years as a staff attorney in Earthjustice’s Denver office, where he litigated cases concerning attacks on wildlands and national parks from road construction, mining and development. Before that he served as a public-lands attorney at Land and Water Fund of the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado. Ted is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School and a member of the board of directors of Wilderness Workshop.

Before joining the Center, Sarah was a staff attorney with the Humane Society of the United States. She earned her law degree in 2005 from Lewis & Clark Law School and her bachelor’s in environmental management from Indiana University.
